Canadian women's soccer team to open Olympic qualifier against Haiti

Canada will open the CONCACAF Olympic women's soccer qualifying event against Haiti on Jan. 19.

The tournament will be held in Vancouver from Jan. 19 to Jan. 29. The event schedule was released Wednesday.
Canada, who took part in the Beijing Games, is expected to face its biggest test Jan. 23 against Costa Rica, a two-time semifinalist, in the final game of the Group A schedule.
The tournament semi-final is scheduled for Jan. 27, with the two winners qualifying for the 2012 London Summer Games. The event's final game will be played Jan. 29.
Canada will play in Group A with Costa Rica, Cuba and Haiti. The Canadians meet Cuba on Jan. 21.
The Group B teams will be the U.S., Mexico, Guatemala and the Dominican Republic.
